Since 2006 AD and till date with some exceptions Club members have been participating on the rally organized by Nhu Da Samaroha Samittee every year to mark New Year of Nepal Era. During the rally people representing from different organizations go around core Kathmandu city spreading messages of goodwill starting from the Basantapur Durbar Square and ending on the same place followed by formal closing. This almanac based on lunar calendar, is uniquely originated in Nepal during Lichhavi dynasty and only one in the world that starts with the name of the country. According to the legend, Nepal Era or Nepal Sambat was started in Nepal during Lichhavi King Raghav Dev to mark the day of happiness when the layman named Sankhadhar Sakhwa donated his wealth in paying back the debts of the public. In today's time most of festivals of the country is celebrated on the basis of this calendar.
