A Celebration of Excellence and Legacy: The 3rd World Bajracharya Award
On the beautiful afternoon of Saturday, December 18, 2024, the historic Nepal Academy Hall in Kamaladi, Kathmandu, came alive with energy, pride, and a deep sense of community. It was a day dedicated to honoring our past, celebrating our present, and inspiring our future at the 3rd World Bajracharya Award.
This year, we had the immense privilege of honoring 68 incredible award winners. Among them were the bright young minds of our community who were recognized under the Academic Window. These are students who successfully passed or completed their academic milestones—spanning all the way from SEE to PhD levels—between October 26, 2022, and November 1, 2024. Seeing their hard work and dedication recognized on stage was a powerful reminder of the bright future ahead for the Bajracharya community.
In a deeply profound moment for everyone present, the event also paid a grand tribute to the world-renowned Buddhist nun, the Most Venerable Bhikshuni Dhammawati Guruma. As a fearless pioneer of the Bhikkhuni Sasana, a dedicated social reformer, and an author of over a hundred books in Nepal Bhasa, her inclusion among the primary honorees added immense spiritual weight to the ceremony, serving as a reminder of her lifelong battle for women's empowerment and the preservation of our heritage.
The event reached an incredibly moving peak as we presented the Lifetime Achievement Award 2024 to the deeply respected Venerable Mr. Yagya Man Pati Bajracharya. As a revered Bajracharya Guru and a brilliant author of Nepal Bhasa literature, his lifelong dedication has preserved our rich heritage and guided generations. Honoring his legacy was a moment of pure gratitude for everyone in attendance.
The 3rd World Bajracharya Award was more than just a ceremony—it was a heartfelt gathering that beautifully connected the wisdom of our elders with the incredible potential of our youth.
